Job summary

Cox Automotive in the United States is seeking a Title Specialist I to accurately process vehicle titles, verify title information, and interact with clients and agencies. The role supports compliance with current title laws and handles inquiries from clients, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 10AM to 7PM on-site.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and comfort with Microsoft Office.

Title Specialist I

Company Cox Automotive - USA Job Family Group Vehicle Operations Job Profile Title Specialist I Management Level Individual Contributor Flexible Work Option No remote option; must work at a specified Cox location Travel % No Work Shift Day Compensation Hourly base pay rate is $16.59 - $24.86/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

The Title Specialist I (TS) position will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of vehicle titles by verifying title information is correct, maintaining knowledge of current laws regarding vehicle titles and interacting with clients and regulatory agencies to resolve title issues. The shift for this position is Monday through Friday from 10AM to 7PM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review titles for negotiability, sign and reassign titles for sellers and buyers.
• Complete application for new title on behalf of clients as needed.
• Facilitate lien perfection on NextGear Capital financed collateral when required.
• Release a NextGear Capital lien on collateral that has been paid in full according to policy.
• Answer communications from clients on title questions.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience Be familiar with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Effective communication skills and a strong customer service attitude are required.
• Sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
• Bending and light lifting 10 lbs or less required.
• Extensive detail handwritten and computer work.
• Preferred Prior experience with vehicle titling is preferred but not required.
• Notary license is preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and exceptional customer service abilities.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using various computer functions and office equipment.
• Professional demeanor and the ability to handle various situations with a pleasant attitude.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and teams.

To be employed in this role, you’ll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position.
