Job summary

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma and 2 years of experience reviewing MD, VA or DC titles, knowledge of title insurance commitments, and familiarity with foreclosure impacts on

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ experience reviewing MD, VA or DC property titles.
• Familiar with title insurance commitment and policy formats.
• Foreclosure processes understanding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Title Reports and summarize items required to clear for MD, DC and VA.
• Review to confirm that the legal description is valid.
• Verify parties in the chain of title to determine if vesting deed is correct.
• Determine conditions required to obtain clear title through foreclosure, deed in lieu, tax sale or other conveyance.
• Examine security deeds, liens, judgments, easements, plats, tax maps and surveys to verify legal description, ownership, restrictions, or conformity to requirements.
• Prepare documentation of review and correspondence to transmit same with requirements to clear title to Vendor and Clients.
• Initiate and follow-up on title-issue resolution with Vendors, Attorneys and Clients.
• Work closely with the title curative staff.
• Update internal system as well as multiple client systems.
