Health First is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment for diagnostic purposes. This role ensures patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards while collaborating with healthcare teams. Ideal candidates will have ARRT certification and strong problem-solving skills.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist operates MRI equipment to capture detailed
images for diagnostic evaluation. The MRI Technologist ensures customer/patient safety, and comfort,
follows established imaging protocols, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, while
collaborating with healthcare teams to produce high-quality scans for accurate diagnosis and treatment
planning.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
1. Maintains a safe environment with the operation of high field strength magnets and related
equipment for customers/patients, coworkers, and self by adhering to MRI safety policies,
procedures, and guidelines.
2. Properly screens patients for MRI safety and effectively documents and communicates pertinent
and required information pre-and-post procedure performance.
3. Positions patients for (Magnetic Resonance) MR scans using immobilization and protective
equipment to comply with department safety procedures and protocols.
4. Produces images consistent with image quality standards and evaluates MR scans for technical
quality.
5. Properly identifies, prepares and administers medications that are within the MRI Technologist’s
scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
6. Maintains flexibility, adapts to changes in workflow processes and the needs of the Health First
organization based upon fluctuations in patient volume.
7. Communicates effectively with customers (patients, LP, other Health First associates, the
public, etc.) always using excellent customer relation skills.
8. Follow all Federal, State and Regional healthcare regulations and adhere to the Joint
Commission/ACR standards.
9. Provides orientation and education for new technologists and assist radiologists in developing
new protocols and MR imaging techniques.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: Graduate of one of the following:
o American Registry for Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) – Accredited Program OR
o American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) accredited
programs or schools OR
o Joint Review Committee Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT) Program OR
o Joint Review Committee Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS) Sonography
Program.
• Work Experience: None
• Licensure: General Radiographer licensure in the State of Florida.
• Certification:
o Any one of the following:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist – ARRT (R) OR
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in MRI Technology – ARRT (MR)
OR
American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology – (ARMRIT) OR
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine Technology
– ARRT (N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) OR
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Sonography Technology –
ARRT (S) OR
American Registry for Medical Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS).
o American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider
Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.
o Must become certified in ARMRIT or ARRT (MR) within two (2) years of start date.
• Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
o Ability to report to applicable Health First facility within thirty (30) minutes when on call.
o Ability to work safely in a magnetic environment.
o Able to work effectively and efficiently in a stressful work environment and able to
respond to life threatening situations.
o Demonstrates effective time management, critical thinking skills, and coordinate
scheduling and patient flow.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
• Work Experience: Prior MRI experience.
• Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Physically agile; requires walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or
crouching majority of the shift.
• Heavy work that frequently includes lifting or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more with or
without assistance.
• May require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments
including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders or overhead.
• May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to
90% of the assigned shift.
• May be exposed to inside environments and outside environments with extreme temperatures,
air contamination, dirt, grease, or water.
• May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following
OSHA and CDC guidelines.
• May operate various types of manual and motorized equipment used in the transportation of
materials.
• May be exposed to intense noise or vibration and awkward or confined work position.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
• Workspace may vary from open to confined, onsite or remote.
• May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of
personal vehicle.
