Job summary

Apex Clean Energy is seeking a Title Manager to lead the Land Department’s Title Team and support the financing, development, and construction of renewable-energy projects. You will supervise, review title commitments, and coordinate with stakeholders to secure title insurance for project financing.

Preference is given to candidates with title abstracting and commercial underwriting experience, prior supervisory background, and ability to work at our Charlottesville, VA headquarters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of title abstracting and/or underwriting experience (commercial underwriting strongly preferred).
• Minimum 1 year of people leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work assignments and projects.
• Willingness to train others and develop systems to improve efficiency of the Title Team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Title Analysts on the Land Department’s Title Team and train new team members when necessary.
• Order, review and process title insurance commitments, draft and record title curative documents, and review ALTA surveys.
• Solicit and review quotes from title companies and other third parties for title commitments, mineral searches, title policies and related services.
• Edit title proformas, prepare legal exhibits, and draft other documents related to project financing.
• Track status of title work and report to internal and external stakeholders the necessary information required to obtain title insurance policies for project financing.
