The ideal candidate for this position will be experienced in the exploration and production of oil and gas assets, including a working knowledge of applicable contracts, transaction types, and regulatory processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must as well as an ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform day-to-day assignments including processes in lease acquisitions, title examinations, abstracting, securing of curative, negotiations with landowners and companies, records, payments, and interpretation of oil and gas exploration contracts.

• Manage an operated drilling schedule by securing, ordering and reviewing title and curative work and giving final title approval prior to spud.

• Communicate internally with upper management regarding ongoing projects, timeline, strategy, budget and scope.

• Assist in pre-and post-acquisition or sale due diligence and curative.

• Regulatory Management including tracking permits, ordering unit plats, managing elections, testifying in hearings, and processing unitizations and forced pooling actions.

• Contract Management including drafting and maintenance of various documents including letter agreements, letters of intent, mineral deeds, leases, assignments, well data agreements, confidentiality agreements, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and farm out/in agreements.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Working knowledge of tax maps, farm line and topographic maps and property records and various contracts related to property ownership.

• Working knowledge of deed plotter programs and chain of title programs.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, professional and nonprofessional groups, contractors and vendors, and the general public.

• Must have Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of five (5) years of applicable experience required.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required.

• Work experience as a Landman or in a land support position which demonstrates a knowledge of land work, surface use agreements and right-of-way agreements, oil and gas lease documents, and courthouse research.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The ability to use a computer, tablet or smart phone for extended periods of time.

• Basic use of office equipment such as copier and fax machines.

• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.

• Ability to concentrate.

• Ability to sit for long periods of time.

• Ability to climb stairs

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, along with equipment necessary to design, draw, and execute plans.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours of work will vary due to workload and needs of the company. TRAVEL: Minimal travel is expected for this position.
