Job summary

Position Responsibilities
  • Tutoring or assisting individual students
  • Teaching small group lessons
  • Providing additional instruction in reading and math skills
  • Collaborating and supporting teachers' programming goals, and teaching strategies while reinforcing students' learning strategies in the classroom
  • Assist classroom teachers in documenting appropriate assessment data that results in fair, though not equal, assessment
  • Engage in professional development on a continual basis
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Promote and advocate for the school and district mission and vision statements
  • Support academic and developmental goals that have been set for students
  • Ensure that data collection is accurate and timely
  • Communicate proactively and professionally about students with teaching and non-teaching staff
  • Conduct all work activities in a professional manner
  • Demonstrate commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment
  • Assists student activities including but not limited to hall, bus, lunch duty and other on-site and off-site activities, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Physical ability to perform essential functions of job.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Preferred - Work Keys (4 in Reading, 4 in Mathematics and 3 in Writing) or post secondary degree. Coursework completed in Early Childhood Education a plus.
  • Experience working with young children
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with students, teachers and others.
  • Physical ability to perform essential functions of job.
Salary

$20.00 per hour

The successful candidate will be subject to a fingerprint and background check as a condition of employment. All fees required for this check (estimated $73.00) will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
