Job summary

Alpine District is seeking a Title I Teaching Assistant - Secondary to support the instructional program in assigned classrooms. This non-contract role involves working with individuals or small groups, providing clerical support, and reinforcing classroom objectives under teacher supervision.

The position requires an Associate degree or 60 quarter/48 semester hours or passing the para pro praxis test, with a minimum age of 16.

Qualifications

• Age 16+ required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have Associate degree or 60 quarter/48 semester hours or have passed the para pro Praxis test.

Responsibilities

• Adapts activities and materials under supervision to support classroom objectives.
• Administers assignments, tests, homework, and make-up work to support teachers.
• Assists students individually or in small groups with reading, writing, and English lessons to reinforce learning.
• Communicates with teachers/parents to assist in evaluating progress and objectives.
• Implements instructional programs and lesson plans under supervision.
• Maintains classroom equipment, work area, and records to ensure safe, organized operation.
• Monitors students in various settings to provide a safe learning environment.
• Reports observations or incidents to instructional/administrative staff as needed.
• Supports teachers and staff in implementing curriculum and teaching methods.
• Attends meetings and trainings to stay informed about job functions.
• Performs related duties to ensure efficient operation of the work unit.
