Job summary

Fort Wayne Community Schools is seeking a part-time paraprofessional to support Title I literacy, compliance, family engagement and Pre‑K requirements at Indian Village Elementary School in Fort Wayne, IN. The role focuses on small-group literacy interventions, collaboration with school leaders, and maintaining records.

CPR, fingerprint checks and TB testing are prerequisites; a high school diploma or equivalent is required plus possible college credit or credentials to be considered

Qualifications

• graduation from high school and one year of general clerical or school experience.
• College degree preferred.
• Strong office, computer, and oral and written communication skills.
• Drug screen required for this position.
• Must be highly-qualified with options including: two years of college, a two-year degree, Para-Pro, 1,000 hours in school, 48 college credits, or CDA credentials.

Responsibilities

• Meet with small groups of students daily to provide literacy interventions.
• Collaborate with principal, instructional coach, and interventionist around literacy interventions.
• Compile information and maintain records related to Title I literacy, compliance, family engagement and Pre-K.
• Assist in planning and executing family engagement activities with school staff.
• Assist in Pre-K classrooms to cover lunch breaks and when Pre-K staff is out.
• Perform related duties as assigned by the Administrator.
