Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team at Alcona Elementary as a Title 1 Intervention Teacher. This full-time position focuses on providing targeted support to students who require additional assistance in their academic development. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to create a nurturing learning environment that fosters student growth and success.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and identify students’ academic needs through formal and informal assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized and small group intervention plans tailored to meet the specific needs of students.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate intervention strategies into the general curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress regularly, adjusting intervention strategies as necessary.
  • Provide direct instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics, utilizing research-based instructional practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress, and communicate this information to parents and staff.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in intervention strategies and educational technology.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and motivation.
  • Work closely with parents and guardians to support student learning and address any concerns.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide Title 1 programs and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification in the state of Michigan.
  • Experience working with students in an intervention or support role, preferably in an elementary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and software to enhance instruction and assessment.
