Job summary

Job Title:Title I Instructional Assistant

Position Overview

Brentwood Elementary is seeking a dedicated, encouraging Title I Instructional Assistant to support our elementary students. In this role, you will work closely with classroom teachers and reading/math specialists to provide targeted academic support to students who need an extra boost in reading, writing, or mathematics. Your focus will be helping students build confidence and close achievement gaps.

Key Responsibilities

• Targeted Interventions: Lead small-group or one-on-one instructional sessions using provided intervention materials in reading and math.
• Progress Monitoring: Assist teachers in tracking student progress, collecting data, and administering basic benchmark assessments.
• Classroom Collaboration: Coordinate daily with general education teachers to reinforce core classroom concepts with designated Title I students.
• Engagement & Encouragement: Build positive relationships with students to boost their academic confidence and motivation.

Qualifications

• Highly Qualified Requirement: An Associates degree or the ability to pass the ParaPro Assessment. (Note: the district will fully administer and provide this test for you upon hiring)
• Previous experience working with school-aged children is preferred.
• Strong basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to pass required background checks/fingerprinting.
• Patience, flexibility, and a passion for supporting diverse learners
