Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in education or in a related area that will qualify for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to use a variety of equipment and classroom tools; ability to stand, walk, and perform related duties.

Responsibilities

• A. MAJOR FUNCTION: Management of Instructional Time—prepare materials and start lessons promptly to maximize student time-on-task.
• B. MAJOR FUNCTION: Management of Student Behavior—establish rules and monitor behavior with dignity.
• C. MAJOR FUNCTION: Instructional Presentation—deliver lessons with clear objectives and relevant examples.
• D. MAJOR FUNCTION: Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance—check progress and due dates.
• E. MAJOR FUNCTION: Instructional Feedback—provide prompt feedback on in-class and out-of-class work.
• F. MAJOR FUNCTION: Facilitating Instruction—align objectives with goals and use available resources.
• G. MAJOR FUNCTION: Interacting Within the Educational Environment—treat all students fairly and engage with staff, parents, and community.
• H. MAJOR FUNCTION: Performing Non-Instructional Duties—fulfill duties per laws and policies.
