Job summary

Fcstn is seeking a classroom assistant for Franklin County Schools in Tennessee. You will support teachers by administering, scoring, and recording tests, distributing materials, and helping with instructional activities.

You will supervise students during drills and field trips, assist with small groups, manage files and displays, and ensure daily documentation. Background checks and drug screening are required before employment.

Qualifications

• Administer, score, and record tests as the teacher recommends for individual students
• Operate and care for classroom equipment
• Distribute and collect workbooks, papers, and materials for instruction
• Assist with supervision during drills, assemblies, field trips
• Check notebooks, correct papers, supervise testing and makeup work
• Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning
• Follow safety rules and procedures for job responsibilities
• Type and duplicate tests, worksheets, and supplementary materials
• Assist in assimilating material for class displays
• Document daily completed work
• Attend work regularly and predictably
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Collaborative or classroom teacher

Responsibilities

• Administer, score, and record such achievement and diagnostic tests as the teacher recommends for individual students.
• Operate and care for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.
• Distribute and collect workbooks, papers, and other materials for instruction.
• Assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
• Check notebooks, correct papers, and supervise testing and makeup work as assigned by the teacher.
• Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills.
• Assume responsibility for knowing and following the safety rules and proper procedures associated with the responsibilities of the job.
• Type and duplicate tests, worksheets, and supplementary materials.
• Assist the teacher in assimilating material for class displays.
• Document what is completed in the class every day.
• Attend work on a regular and predictable basis; and
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Collaborative teacher or the classroom teacher.
