Job summary

Washington County TN School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant for Jonesborough Elementary School to support teachers, secretaries, and clerical staff as needed.

The role involves assisting with supervision of students, distributing materials, and helping prepare classroom displays under teacher guidance. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a Para Professional Test and some experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Not less than a high school education or GED.
• Para Professional Test required without 48 hours of college.
• At least one year of experience is preferred but not required.
• Meets health and physical qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
• Distribute and collect worksheets, papers and other materials for instruction.
• Assist the teacher in preparing materials for class displays; and.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
