Job summary

The Perryman Company seeks a motivated summer intern to join our chemistry lab at the titanium melt facility in Coal Center, PA. You will assist on projects, prepare samples, and help analyze titanium alloys using XRF, Spark, and ICP techniques under supervision.

Ideal candidates are working toward a degree in Chemistry, with strong problem solving, attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Office. This is an on-site, full-time summer internship for 2027.

Qualifications

• In the process of pursuing a chemistry degree or related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must be able to follow instructions, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
• Comfortable working with strong mineral acids, milling machines, hot saws, and shears.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the certification of new reference materials.
• Analyze samples per ASTM, ISO, or Perryman specifications.
• Perform analyses of titanium alloys using XRF, Spark OES, and ICP techniques.
• Record test results, perform statistical analyses, maintain records, and create technical reports.
• Work with outside laboratories to assist in the certification process.
• Work as an individual or in a team in a laboratory environment.
• Be an active participant in and resource for chemistry laboratory.
• Interact with laboratory technicians daily.
