Tennessee Donor Services (TDS) is seeking a dedicated team member to join us in saving lives through organ and tissue donation. We are looking for professionals who will embrace this vital work. The role involves coordinating the technical aspects of recovering donated human tissue.

Company Overview and Mission

Tennessee Donor Services is a designated organ procurement organization (OPO) in Tennessee and part of the DCI Donor Services family. For over four decades, DCI Donor Services has worked to end the transplant waiting list, supporting nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution of organs and tissues while maintaining strong community ties.

DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also support the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank. Our success is measured by how well we serve donor families and recipients. Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • The Tissue Recovery Technicians work around the clock as part of a team to recover human tissue, a vital donation process.
  • Responsibilities include recovery, packaging, labeling, cleaning, surgical prep, aseptic recovery, donor restoration, and decontamination.
  • Shifts are 12-hour rotating from 8-8 (AM & PM), with a current focus on hiring for the 8PM-8AM shift.
  • Training involves instructor-led wet labs, training modules, and active training.
  • Participation in honoring donors is rewarding and fulfilling.
  • New employees must have their first COVID-19 vaccine dose or provide proof of vaccination.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Starting pay is $21.00 for Tissue Technician I, with an additional $1.50/hour for evening shifts.
  • Opportunities for advancement within 12 months with pay increases at each level: Technician II ($21.75), Technician III ($23.50), Technician IV ($24.50), Technician V ($25.50).
  • Up to 176 hours of PTO and 72 hours of Sick Time in the first year.
