Job summary

Sanford Health in Rapid City, SD, is seeking a Histology Technician to receive and prepare tissue specimens. You will perform embedding, microtomy, staining, and slide preparation for diagnostic use, while maintaining equipment and ensuring safety and QA standards.

Interaction with diverse patient populations may be required. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Laboratory or Biological Sciences and preferred histology experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory or Biological Sciences required.
• Prior histology experience preferred.
• HHS approved certification (ASCP) or registry eligible within twelve months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare tissue specimens for routine and special examinations.
• Perform complex histological procedures including embedding, microtomy, and staining to prepare tissue slides for diagnosis.
• Review slide quality and maintain/repair lab instruments.
• Disinfects work area and stocks supplies; ensure safety, quality control and QA standards.
