Job summary

Take Ten Tire & Service in Stillwater, OK is seeking a Tire Technician to service and maintain tires and wheels and to support our customers with safe, timely service.

The position requires tire knowledge, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. You will mount, balance, rotate, and install tires, help with inventory, and ensure a clean, safe work environment.

Must have tire knowledge and experience, be responsible for the service and maintenance of tires and wheels, and safely get our phenomenal customers back on the road again. This position's primary role is to support all levels of tire service for our customers. The Tire Tech position is a support role that provides general service and support as assigned. All work must follow company policies, procedures, and industry best practices, and no employees should attempt to do any work for which they are not trained.

Essential Functions

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair all types of tires, from passenger cars to large trucks. Large truck tires are available only after completing the TIA CTS certification.
• Check for needed additional service.
• Drive to deliver and pick up merchandise and move customers’ vehicles.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service truck in efficient operating condition, keeping it clean inside and out.
• Unload, load, stock inventory, and related items as required and assist with physical inventory.
• Operate a forklift, depending on the facility and only after receiving certification.
• Sweep floors, clean restrooms, and perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
• Make yourself available for and complete all required and additional training the Company offers.
• Attend meetings held by the Store Service Manager.
• Process all necessary paperwork promptly.
• Observe all safety rules and procedures associated with the performance of duties.
• Use personal protective equipment according to regulations and policies.
• Assist with special projects as requested.

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

Must have a high school diploma or GED. Experience in a shop environment and knowledge of tools and practices are helpful.

Work Environment

This position requires frequent pushing/lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as stooping, standing, and bending. This is a shop environment with varying temperatures and exposure to grease and engine fluids. Safety shoes are required but provided through a company cost-sharing program.
