An established industry player is seeking a dedicated individual to assist in the maintenance and repair of automotive and diesel equipment. This role involves performing minor mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and ensuring the cleanliness of the shop area. DEFINITION
To assist in performing minor mechanical and preventive maintenance repairs to automotive, diesel, and other power-driven equipment, and to clean and wash vehicles, shop area, and equipment.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general direction from the Equipment Services Supervisor. Receives technical or functional supervision from Senior Mechanics and Mechanics.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
For indefinite periods of time - mobility within an office and field environment; exposure to fume/odor, dust/mite, and mechanical hazards; exposure to constant noise; standing; walking; squatting; stooping; sorting; twisting body; sitting; kneeling; crawling; climbing; reading; decision making; reaching above shoulder level; pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; seeing; using both hands for simple and firm grasping; clarity of hearing; communicating clearly and effectively, in person and by two-way radio; fine finger manipulation; operating a motor vehicle and all types of equipment through city traffic.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
One year of experience as a Tire Technician and a High School Diploma or GED.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Possession of valid Texas Driver's License; and ability to obtain within three months, a valid Texas Class B CDL.
