Job summary

R+L Carriers is hiring a Tire Mechanic in Lakeland, FL to change, repair, and maintain tires on class 8 fleet vehicles. The role requires lifting up to 125 lbs, standing on concrete, and using a tire balancer and hand tools in a fast-paced shop.

Earn $23.13–$29.95 per hour as a full-time employee with Monday–Friday shifts (4 PM – 2:30 AM) and 1 week of vacation after 90 days of employment. Candidates must have a good driving record and a current operator's license for on-road service calls.

Qualifications

• Must have 1-year Commercial Tire experience.
• Ability to lift 125 lbs.
• Mount and dismount truck and car tires.
• Must have a current operator's license and the ability to operate service calls on the road.
• Basic knowledge of tire DOT information.
• Ability to stand on concrete for extended periods.
• Identify the difference between a retread and a new tire.
• Identify each wheel type and proper fasteners.
• Properly tighten all types of wheels.
• Properly repair a tractor-trailer tire to company standards.

• Operate 1' air wrench
• Identify and operate basic hand tools
• Properly tighten all types of wheels
• Properly repair a tractor-trailer tire to company standards
• Clean MVR required
