Job summary

K & S Tire Recycling, Inc. is hiring an experienced Tire Grader at our Chicago Heights facility to inspect, grade, sort, and organize used tires for resale.

Responsibilities include inspecting and grading tires, reading DOT codes, measuring tread depth, and sorting inventory. The role requires attention to detail, physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and reliable attendance. We offer accrued PTO and two shift options (1st and 2nd).

Qualifications

• Previous experience with tire installation/repair or tire recycling preferred.
• Prior professional tire-shop or used-tire grading experience.
• Ability to identify tire sizes without assistance.
• Ability to lift, roll, and stack tires up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and dependable attendance.

K&S Tire Recycling is hiring an experienced Tire Grader to inspect, grade, sort and organize used tires for resale at our Chicago Heights facility.

• Inspect and grade used tires for resale or recycling
• Identify tread wear, dry rot, sidewall/bead damage, exposed cords, punctures and repairs
• Read tire sizes, specifications and DOT date codes
• Measure/assess tread depth and overall condition
• Sort tires by size, type, condition and quality
• Stack and organize resale inventory
• Maintain accurate and consistent grading standards
• Assist with tire handling and loading as needed

Requirements

• Previous experience with tire installation and repair, automotive service, used tire sales, working in a tire shop, or tire recycling is strongly preferred
• Prior professional tire-shop, tire-grading or used-tire experience
• Ability to identify tire sizes without assistance
• Knowledge of what makes a used tire acceptable/unacceptable for resale
• Ability to repeatedly lift, roll and stack tires up to 50 lbs
• Strong attention to detail
• Dependable attendance and productivity
