Sheridan Lebanon Junction is hiring a Tipper Operator to attach inserts and components onto printed materials with careful control of quality and waste. You will set up tipping equipment, read production tickets, and ensure precise placement while meeting schedules.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As a Tipper Operator, you will be responsible for operating tipping equipment to accurately affix inserts, cards, samples, or other components onto printed materials while ensuring quality, meeting production schedules, and minimizing waste:

• Set up, operate, and adjust tipping machines according to job specifications and production schedules.
• Read and interpret job tickets, work orders, and production specifications.
• Accurately tip inserts, reply cards, samples, or other materials onto printed pieces.
• Load materials, adhesives, and components into the machine properly.
• Perform quality checks to ensure proper placement, adhesion, and alignment of tipped components.
• Monitor machine performance throughout production runs and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and perform basic machine maintenance.
• Maintain accurate production counts and complete required documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Communicate issues or concerns to supervisors or maintenance promptly.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Has a mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate production equipment.
• Can read measurements and understand production specifications and job tickets.
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail, precision, and quality.
• Possesses good time management skills and a focus on productivity.
• Is able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Demonstrates strong safety awareness and compliance with workplace safety rules.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Previous bindery, tipping, or printing experience.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing basic machine maintenance.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

• Standing for extended periods of time on the production floor.
• Safely lifting up to 40-50 pounds as required.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Working safely in a manufacturing and printing environment with exposure to noise, paper dust, and moving machinery.
• Constant use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
