Overtime, weekend, and occasional holiday work are expected to support project timelines. The role requires experience as a Timekeeper, proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to work cross-functionally with labor relations and payroll teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Labor Relations to ensure timely entry of payroll information for Craft Professionals.
  • Enter and maintain employee data, including new hires, terminations, rate changes, and classifications.
  • Support onboarding activities for new project hires, including site badging.
  • Verify daily craft attendance using eTrack and review timesheets.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot badges and time clocks; process replacements as needed.
  • Create and distribute daily/weekly reports and timesheet metrics.
  • Process weekly payroll checks and direct deposit notifications.
  • Process time-off requests and daily call-in notifications.
  • Maintain craft employee files and record retention.
  • Support gate watch activities and badge scanning for site personnel.
  • Provide payroll-related customer service to craft professionals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Chief Timekeeper or Project Finance and Accounting Manager

Project Overview:

Bechtel's Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing and building an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing Facility located at Generation Park in Houston, TX. Job Summary:

The Project Timekeeper will perform timekeeping and craft payroll activities for the Project. The position requires the ability to maintain confidentiality with a strong ethical behavior in workplace practices, a customer-service orientation with a demonstrated professional demeanor and communication style, flexibility, and commitment to meeting deadlines. The position requires overtime on a weekly basis. The timekeeping team works when the craft professionals work. Ability to work many Saturdays, occasional Sundays and some holidays required. Coverage of swing shift or night shift may also be required to fill in for colleagues assigned to those shifts.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Labor Relations to ensure timely entry of all required payroll information for Craft Professionals into project timekeeping and payroll systems.
  • Enter and maintain employee data, including new hires, terminations, rate changes, and classification updates.
  • Support onboarding activities for new project hires, including site badging for all personnel.\\
  • Verify daily craft attendance using the project electronic timekeeping system (eTrack), and review, reconcile, and export daily time records for craft employees.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot employee badges and time clocks, including processing replacement badges as needed.
  • Create and distribute daily and weekly reports, including force reports, attendance infractions, and timesheet completion metrics.
  • Sort, validate, and distribute weekly craft payroll checks and direct deposit notifications.
  • Process time-off requests and daily call-in notifications for craft employees.
  • Maintain craft employee files, including scanning and record retention activities.
  • Maintain crew timesheets as directed by construction supervision and support gate watch activities, including badge scanning for project site personnel.
  • Provide payroll-related customer service and support to craft professionals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Timekeeper or Project Finance and Accounting Manager.
Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A University Hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous experience as a Timekeeper
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and occasional shift work
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong analytical abilities with the capability to work independently to identify and resolve routine issues
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States without sponsorship
