Bechtel Corporation's Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) unit is designing and building an API manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. This role supports material planning and coordination to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment for installation, with a focus on accurate reporting and proactive scheduling.

You will work closely with project controls, procurement, warehouse teams, and construction crews to verify requisitions, monitor inventory, and communicate lookahead plans.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of receiving, material handling, warehousing, inventory control, and storage practices.
  • Ability to inspect incoming materials, verify quantities and documentation, and maintain accurate receiving and inventory records.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with procurement, suppliers, warehouse personnel, and project teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and use computerized materials management and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

Project Overview:

Bechtel's Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing and building an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing Facility located at Generation Park in Houston, TX. Job Summary:

In this role, you will support material planning and/or material coordination for a small to medium project site. Planning activities will include clear identification of required materials, and details for how they will be stored and shipped. Coordination activities will include reporting of material work package statuses for installation. Your efforts will support adequate and accurate materials and equipment at the jobsite.

Major Responsibilities:

Material Coordination

  • Performs material coordination activities at a jobsite within material discipline of responsibility to ensure the accurate reporting of material and equipment work package statuses for installation

  • Monitors planned inventory control mechanisms, such as min-max and bag-and-tag and uses Digital Supply Chain tools

  • Continuously performs priority allocations to ensure material availability well in advance of installation requirements

  • Coordinates material availability in support of design revisions, rework, contingency or work-around plans

  • Participates in Construction and/or Subcontractor planning meetings to be fully aware of changes in installation plans and priorities

  • Coordinates with warehouse personnel for materials to be issued direct to the installation area, as opposed to being controlled in storage

  • Coordinates the constructability look ahead meetings

  • Prepares the site constructability reports as inclusive of 30, 60, and 90-day lookaheads

Material Planning

  • Verifies that material requisitions clearly identify required pay items and reflect a level of detail in which materials will be shipped and identified for storage and control prior to distribution to Construction for installation

  • Coordinates material planning activities for a material discipline area of responsibility

  • Maintains direct working relationship with Project Controls, Discipline Engineers, Supply Chain, Automation Support and/or Construction Coordinator to ensure that construction personnel are provided with materials to support the completion of the construction work

  • Monitors Engineering and Supply Chain deliverable schedules to meet the construction schedule

  • Monitors materials components aspects of the project Automation Plan related data transfers between the functional groups with respect to assigned discipline area of responsibility

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of receiving, material handling, warehousing, inventory control, and storage practices

  • Ability to inspect incoming materials, verify quantities and documentation, and maintain accurate receiving and inventory records

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with procurement, suppliers, warehouse personnel, and project teams

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and use computerized materials management and inventory systems

Desired Qualifications:
  • 510 years of direct experience on large capital projects, including regulated or validated settings

  • Deep understanding of cGMP regulations, and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Experience in the following areas: GMP manufacturing, LEAN, automation, construction, construction quality, CQV (commissioning, qualification, and validation), project controls, the engineering disciplines, safety, and scheduling

  • Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (Owners, Architects, Engineers, QA/Validation, Contractors) in regulated contexts

  • Certifications or hands-on experience in CQV; CSV awareness; familiarity with FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, and related regulatory frameworks

  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, multi-site projects in validated environments (GMP/GLP/ISO 17025) within labs, biopharma, pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, healthcare, or related sectors

  • Specific experience delivering validated environments: GMP/GLP labs, ISO 14644 cleanrooms, ISO 17025 laboratories, or similar
