Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ seeks a Time & Attendance Analyst to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing for US & Puerto Rico non-exempt employees, partnering with HRBPs, IT, Legal, and Total Rewards.

You will own end-to-end T&A validation, data reconciliation, SOX controls, and drive process improvements using AI-driven analytics and ADP integrations. Hybrid role with strong emphasis on data accuracy, cross-functional collaboration, and timely payroll cycle completion, offering

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of payroll, time & attendance, or HRIS support experience.
• Audit and SOX controls experience.
• Experience with ADP/EV6, E-Time, Workday, UKG or ServiceNow.
• MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas).
• Knowledge of payroll and T&A concepts including wage calculations.
• Compliance with federal/state/provincial labor laws and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end T&A and payroll validation for biweekly cycles.
• Validate and reconcile time, payroll, and HRIS data; investigate discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Lead root-cause analysis for recurring T&A payroll issues and remediation.
• Lead T&A projects with ADP and stakeholders for efficient configurations.
• Produce standard and ad hoc T&A reports and analytics for HR and Finance.
• Develop Payroll Guiding Principles into SOPs and training materials.
• Maintain SOX controls, documentation, and audit readiness.
• Utilize AI analytics to monitor T&A transactions and improve payroll accuracy.
• Serve as primary T&A SME and interface with vendors and cross-functional teams.
