Job summary

Rayonier is seeking a proactive Timberlands Forester I to join our team. In this developmental role, you will gain hands-on experience under the mentorship of seasoned forestry leaders, building skills to manage land resources independently.

Educational requirements include a degree in Forestry or related field, with no prior professional forestry experience required for qualifying candidates. You will support budgeting, planning, contractor administration, and field activities.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Forestry or related field; or equivalent combination.
• Experience: No prior forestry experience required with qualifying degree; willingness to learn.
• Technical: Basic forestry principles; openness to learning silviculture, inventory, and land management practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with budgeting information for silvicultural and forestry projects.
• Support site activity planning and long-term silviculture planning.
• Help administer contracts and monitor contractor compliance.
• Coordinate field activities and share updates with the team.
• Assist property management activities including inspections and land use decisions.
• Follow safety procedures and environmental guidelines.
