Job summary

Rayonier Operating Company LLC is seeking a proactive Timberlands Forester I to join our team in a developmental role. You will gain hands-on experience under seasoned forestry leaders, building technical, financial, and operational skills to manage land resources independently.

You will assist with budgeting, planning, forest inventory, reforestation, harvesting support, contract administration, and property management while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Education in forestry or related field with practical experience preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of silviculture, harvesting, forest inventory, and land management.
• Experience with GIS and Microsoft 365 is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in budgeting, cost tracking, and financial planning for silvicultural work.
• Support site activity planning and development of annual/long-term silviculture plans.
• Help administer contracts and verify contractor performance and invoices.
• Coordinate field activities with forestry staff and external partners.
• Participate in property management activities and land-use decisions.
• Follow safety procedures and learn BMPs and regulatory requirements.
