Supervisor – As a Floor Supervisor, you will lead, develop, and motivate a team of Brand Advocates to deliver a Best in Class customer experience that aligns with Timberland’s brand purpose and values. You will partner with the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager to maximize profitability by ensuring customer engagement, merchandising, operations, and community connection are consistently compliant with company standards. Additionally, you will create an inclusive environment while ensuring internal and external customers are your top priority.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maximizing sales and achieving store target goals by ensuring the store team has the knowledge and skills to meet sales and customer engagement objectives.
- Assist in monitoring payroll while protecting the needs of the business.
- Lead and inspire a customer‑centric culture by recognizing and rewarding the team’s successes.
- Be an active brand ambassador within the community by proactively seeking opportunities to engage with customers and participate in community initiatives outside the store.
- Provide leadership to ensure thorough training and ongoing development of the store team in customer engagement and all company programs, policies and procedures.
- Partner with the Store Manager in achieving all financial and operational objectives, including expense control, loss prevention, store audits and weekly report reviews.
- Ensure the store’s inventory integrity is maintained.
- Implement visual merchandise directives and maintain standards consistent with company brand strategies.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to policies and procedures, standards and practices, and company directives regarding loss prevention, safety and compliance; protect company assets.
- Model behavior that respects the background, experience, and cultural differences of others while upholding the integrity and values of the VF Corporation and the brand.
- Promote an environment that encourages participation, creativity, and learning by sharing best practices and building on the ideas of others.
Qualifications
- Required:
- 1+ years of store management experience in a fast‑paced, highly engaging retail environment.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales results.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced store environment.
- Proven ability to meet business goals by driving results through the store team.
- Willingness and desire to learn and share knowledge of products, local community, experiences, and activities relevant to customers.
- Ability to provide a highly engaging customer experience through individual service, conversation, and relationship building.
- Excellent decision‑making ability in a fast‑paced environment.
- Detail oriented.
- Proficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and software programs.
- Preferred:
- Experience in a specialty retail environment, retail footwear/apparel industry experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements
- Operate office equipment and technology (e.g., computers, tablets, phones, copier).
- Standing required for entire work shift.
- Bend, lift, open, and move product up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Use ladders for visual merchandising, light adjustments, and window banner placement.
