Job summary

Dal-Tile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries, invites applications for a Sorting Operations role at our Tennessee plant. You will help maintain a safe work environment across Sorting, Cutting, Rectification, and Wrapper areas while upholding ISO 9001:2008 quality standards and training new employees.

Qualifications

• Experience following safety protocols in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2008 quality standards.
• Ability to train new hires on safety policies and quality requirements.
• Willingness to work across Sorting, Cutting, Rectification, and Wrapper areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment in Sorting areas.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed plant-wide.
• Follow the ISO 9001:2008 quality system for sorting operations.
• Lead training of new hires on safety, quality policy and equipment.
• Support maintenance in operator basic care programs and scheduling duties.
• Fill in for sorting functions as needed.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team on operator care and LGV/system scheduling.

Job Duties:

• Helps to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for Sorting, Cutting, Rectification and Wrapper areas.
• Ensures all safety protocols throughout the plant are adhered to.
• Follows the Quality Management System, which is certified to ISO 9001:2008 for all sorting operations.
• Performs necessary LOTO audits and assists in delivering weekly safety training materials.
• Ensures product specifications are followed throughout the Sorting Department.
• Responsible for reviewing BC and Pack-Stock audits both with the operations and audit departments.
• Assist the Sorting Supervisor in coordinating the operations of sorting, cutting, rectification, and wrapper areas.
• Responsible for training of all new hires in regards to safety, quality policy and management systems, as well as operations of all sorting equipment and product knowledge.
• Responsible for working with maintenance team to develop and sustain operator basic care programs.
• Fill-in and relief responsibility for all sorting job functions.
• Understanding of pallet and box LGV programs, and utilizing the system to assist the plant LGV coordinator with scheduling duties
• Other duties as needed.
