Responsibilities

• Read and understand basic drawings (x/y axis dimensions).
• Set up and operate cutting equipment, saws and precision measuring tools.
• Ensure materials are used and handled appropriately.
• Measure, mark, and cut materials with precision.
• Control feed rate and material support to reduce chipping and cracking.
• Ensure finished product meets quality standards and specifications.
• Keep track of supply inventory.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform routine equipment checks and preventive maintenance.
• Assist in continuous improvement activities to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
• Assist other team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

MACRO Industries, a leading aerospace and defense composites company, is seeking a Tile Cutting Technician for their Huntsville, AL location. The successful candidate will cut, shape, and prepare high precision tile materials.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Ability to read and understand company basic drawings (x/y axis dimensions).
• Set up and operates cutting equipment, saws and precision measuring tools.
• Ensure materials are used and handled appropriately.
• Measures, marks, and cuts materials with precision.
• Ability to control feed rate and material support reducing chipping and cracking.
• Ensure finished product meets quality standards and specifications.
• Keeps track of supply inventory.
• Maintain clean and safe work area.
• Perform routine equipment checks and preventive maintenance ensuring cutting tools and machinery are in safe working condition.
• Assist in continuous improvement activities to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
• Assist other team members as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

• Ability to maintain dimensional accuracy.

• Proficient at the use of templates.
• Ability to operate multiple types of hand tools and precision measuring tools.
• Demonstrated ability to use a table saw/wet saw.

• Must be able to stand for 8 hours a day.
