Job summary

The Baker Company in Sanford, ME is seeking a TIG Welder to fabricate and weld stainless steel components used in laboratory and clean air equipment. You will produce precise, clean welds and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

This full-time role requires the ability to lift 10–20 lbs, stand for long periods, and pass a flat TIG welding test. You will inspect welds, measure parts, and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• TIG welding experience required – must be able to pass a flat TIG welding test.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and read job specifications.
• Understand BOM and identify material types and gauges.
• Follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

• Welds or tack welds metal parts using welding equipment.
• Fills cavities or corrects malformations in lead parts and shapes metal.
• Examines workpiece for defects and measures to specifications.
• Moves parts and climbs ladders as needed; inspects weld surfaces.
• Maintains equipment safety and cleanliness; focuses on quality and customer satisfaction.
• Applies Lean tools to identify waste and improve process flow.
