Job summary

The Baker Company in Sanford, ME is seeking a TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. You will fabricate and weld stainless steel components used in laboratory and clean air equipment, ensuring precise, high-quality welds and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
TIG welding experience required – must be able to pass a flat TIG welding test.
Must be able to interpret mechanical drawings and read job specifications.
Understand BOM and identify material types and gauges.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

Welds or tack welds metal parts together using spot welding gun or hand, electric, or gas welding equipment.
Fills cavities or corrects malformation in lead parts and hammers out bulges and bends in metal workpieces.
Examines workpiece for defects and measures with straightedge or template to ensure conformance with specifications.
Climbs ladders to assemble structures.
Moves parts on low lifts.
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
Grind metal to achieve proper surface texture.
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Use Lean tools to identify waste and improve process flow.
Other duties as assigned by supervisors or leads.
