Job summary

Donaldson is seeking a TIG Welder to join our Dixon, IL facility on first shift (Mon–Thu, 4:00 am–2:00 pm). You will read blueprints, perform TIG/GTAW welding, and weld components to tight tolerances using .045-.052 wire and 250 Amp setup. You’ll maintain equipment and support fabrication teams.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year welding experience, a high school diploma, and may hold AMS-STD-1595A certification. We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year welding experience.
• Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
• Welding certification per AMS-STD-1595A (preferred).
• NADCAP and NAVSEA certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to production schedule.
• Reads, assembles, and welds using TIG and GTAW welding techniques from blueprints.
• Prepares, assembles, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Monitors welding, burning, and fitting process to avoid overheating or warping.
• Sets up to 250 Amp, 32 Volt, 400 IPM wire speed.
• Uses .045 - .052 metal core wire with 90/10 gas.
• Grinds and deburrs surfaces to create clean finishes.
• Welds components in vertical, flat, or overhead positions.
• Maintains equipment and work area; reports faults.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
