Nesco Resource is seeking a skilled welder for our Lafayette, IN operation. The role concentrates on welding and fabrication, identifying materials, selecting the proper welding method, preparing parts, and ensuring welds meet ASME specifications and project callouts.

You will read blueprints, set up components, weld in multiple positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead), and inspect finished work. Proficiency with GTAW, GMAW, FCAW and related tools is required; a test on-site is mandatory.

Formación

  • Minimum one year welding and fabrication experience.
  • Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.
  • Proven experience as welder.
  • Experience in using GTAW, GMAW, FCAW.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing.
  • 5-8 years of experience required.
  • Must be able to pass on-site welding test.

Responsabilidades

  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
  • Align components using calipers, tape measures, etc., and clamp pieces.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
  • Ensure welds meet ASME specifications.
  • Represent company in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The welder is responsible for the construction of various products primarily focusing on welding and fabrication techniques. The welder will follow the process below in every welding scenario (I, P, W, C, I)




  • Identify materials to be welded and appropriate welding/ fabrication method.

  • Prepare and fit materials for welding/ fabrication using grinders, clamps, tape measures, etc.

  • Weld materials within the WPS parameters per the engineering weld callout.

  • Clean welded materials.

  • Inspect welds to ensure quality standards and engineering weld callouts have been met.

Education and Experience



  • The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail

  • Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential

  • Proven experience as welder

  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (GTAW, GMAW, FCAW)

  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)

  • Minimum one year welding and fabrication experience

  • 5-8 years of experience required.
