Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking an experienced TIG Welder / Fabricator for a potential-to-hire role in Houston, TX. The position involves TIG welding, metal fabrication, equipment repairs, and reading blueprints in a shop setting. Wage is up to $24.00/hour with a Monday–Friday 6:00am–2:30pm shift.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of welding and fabrication experience, TIG welding skills, and the ability to read drawings. Safety practice and independence are valued in a team-oriented shop.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years welding and fabrication experience.
• TIG welding experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience using welding, cutting, grinding, and metal fabrication equipment.
• Strong knowledge of welding methods, procedures, and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb throughout the shift.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on a variety of metal materials and components.
• Fabricate, repair, and modify metal structures, equipment, and parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and specifications.
• Operate welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, and fabrication equipment.
• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble materials to required specifications.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Communicate progress and project updates with supervisors and team members.
