Job summary

Modern Industries, Inc. is seeking a TIG Welder for aerospace and semiconductor manufacturing on a full-time, on-site basis in Phoenix, AZ. First shift runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00am to 3:30pm, with a sign-on bonus of $2,000 for new applicants paid in two installments after payroll milestones.

Responsibilities include welding to customer drawings, blueprint interpretation, and documentation. Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year of welding experience, ability to read

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and completion of internal welding test.
• Minimum 1 year welding experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and welding instructions.
• Basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform weld preparation, welding and weld finishing to meet drawings and specs.
• Interpret mechanical drawings including weld symbol requirements.
• Conduct process inspection, certification, and documentation.
• Maintain welding equipment and perform basic fine-tuning. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Description

***1st shift Monday - Thursday 5am - 3:30pm***

*** Effective June 15, 2026 Sign-On Bonus: $2000 for new applicants. Paid out: 1st half 30 days, and 2nd half in 60 days once on Modern's payroll.***

• Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology.
• Process inspection, certification, and documentation.
• Welding equipment maintenance. Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• Ability to read blueprints and instructions.
• Basic Computer skills. Proficiency in welding techniques.
• Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials.
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.) Capable of reading wiring schematic

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma, or equivalent, and Successful completion of an internal welding test.
• Minimum 1-year experience in various forms of welding.
