Woodward is seeking a TIG Welder I to join our manufacturing team in Michigan. The role involves performing TIG welding, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality and safety compliance while supporting lean practices and continuous improvement.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with standard hours and opportunities for overtime. This position emphasizes teamwork, equipment maintenance, and adherence to Woodward’s Core Values in a dynamic production environment.

Qualifications

  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong equipment operation, problem-solving, communication, time management, teamwork, computer, and blueprint-reading skills, while supporting lean practices, standardized work, continuous improvement, and Woodward’s Core Values.What You Will Be DoingPerform Welding Operations: Executes welding tasks using standardized techniques and equipment in accordance with established procedures.Maintain Equipment: Conducts regular inspections and routine maintenance of welding tools and machinery to ensure optimal functionality.Read and Interpret Blueprints: Utilizes technical drawings and specifications to accurately guide welding processes and ensure precise outcomes.Quality Standards: Inspects welded components to verify compliance with quality and safety standards, addressing any discrepancies.Safety Compliance: Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols and regulations in welding environments.What We Are Looking ForWelding Techniques: Proficient in various welding methods such as MIG, TIG, and/or Arc welding.Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves common welding issues using established procedures.Equipment Operation: Skilled in operating welding equipment and related machinery safely and effectively.Team Communication: Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors to support workflow and escalate immediate issues.
