Job summary

Ferco Aerospace is seeking a TIG Welder on 1st shift to join our aerospace manufacturing team. The role emphasizes honesty, accuracy, and efficiency, with a full-time position and benefits.

You will weld stainless steel and Inconel per customer specs and prepare materials for fabrication. Responsibilities include reading detailed blueprints, selecting materials and weld wire, and performing multiple fabrication steps with a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • TIG welding of stainless steel and Inconel per spec.
  • Ability to read complex blueprints and follow written instructions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • TIG weld stainless steel and Inconel sheets 0.035 inch to 0.25 inch thick to fabricate aerospace parts per customer specs.
  • Select and identify proper materials, including weld wire, needed to weld components.
  • Prepare materials for welding; cut, grind and clean metal; perform fabrication steps.
  • Work from complex blueprints or verbal/written instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain good attendance.
  • Demonstrate a self-starting attitude and willingness to learn.

The ideal candidate for this position would be able to do the following and possess the following

  • TIG welding stainless steel and Inconel sheets 0.035 inch to 0.25 inch thick together to fabricate aerospace parts to customer specification.
  • Ability to select and identify the proper materials, including weld wire selection, needed to weld components.
  • Prepares materials for welding; cuts, grinds and cleans metal. Utilizes fabrication skills to complete all phases of fabrication.
  • Must be able to work from complex and detailed blueprints and/or verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.

  • Must have TIG Welding experience
  • Aerospace Industry experience advantageous
Position Demands
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and sit for long periods of time on a daily basis
  • Able to bend, twist, turn, carry, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, etc.
  • Able to successfully pass vision screens
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
  • Perform repetitious duties, such as hammering a part to specification.
Schedule
  • Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Overtime Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 5:30pm, Friday 6:00am - 11:00am
