Forms+Surfaces is a leading designer and manufacturer of architectural and site products used in high-profile commercial projects around the world. As a TIG Welder you will be part of our Pittsburgh manufacturing team, welding aluminum and steel parts with a focus on safety, accuracy, and timely completion of each job.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, inspecting welds, and preparing parts for welding, with duties spanning setup, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year TIG welding experience or formal training.
• Must pass TIG welding test.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and job orders.
• Ability to operate calipers and tape measures.
• Basic computer navigation and data entry.
• Able to stand 8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols)
• Inspect welds for accuracy
• Prepare parts for welding by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steel/aluminum
• Change wire/welding and gas tanks as needed
• Ensure equipment is set up safely and safety devices are used
• Perform first article and subsequent inspections
• Record time and attendance in the system
• Be flexible across production areas
• Other duties as needed

• Monday - Friday (7am - 3:30pm)
• Sunday - Wednesday (3pm - 1:30am)
• Wednesday - Saturday (3pm - 1:30am)
• Sunday - Thursday (11pm - 7:30am)

Job Description

The primary responsibility of TIG Welder is TIG the welding of aluminum and steel parts in a variety of standard and custom jobs. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy, and timeliness in the welding area.

Responsibilities

• Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols)
• Inspect welds for accuracy
• Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steel/aluminum parts
• Change wire/welding and gas tanks as needed
• Ensure all equipment is properly set up and used in a safe manner, and that all safety devices are in use
• Perform first article inspections as well as subsequent inspections
• Record proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance system
• Willingness to be flexible within all areas of production within facility.
• Other job-related duties may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position

Skills & Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience or training in TIG Welding
• Must pass the TIG welding test
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings & job orders
• Ability to operate measuring devices such as calipers and tape measurers
• Basic computer navigation and data entry skills
• Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work overtime when needed
