Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. is seeking a skilled GTAW/TIG welder for its North Kingstown, RI facility. The role involves welding submarine piping systems, performing root passes, and inspecting weld quality across various joint configurations.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, GTAW/TIG training, and be able to work all shifts. Relocation support is provided for qualified applicants, and a 2nd/3rd shift differential is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 2 years related technical experience.
• Formal GTAW/TIG welding training and/or on the job experience.
• Available to work all shifts.
• Ability to read welding and shipyard procedures, drawings, and manuals.
• Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Welds on butt joints, sockets, boss roots, weldolets and fillets using GTAW/TIG.
• Operate automatic TIG fixed head and orbital welding equipment.
• Perform visual inspection of pipe welds and repair excavated areas.
• Read and interpret welding procedures and drawings.
