Job summary

Technique, Inc. in Jackson, Michigan is seeking a Welder at our Thorrez Street facility.

The role emphasizes MIG/TIG welding with Lincoln equipment to weld stainless steel and carbon steel, while supporting QA with layouts and inspections per GD&T and prints, and completing welded assemblies to customer requirements. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of welding experience in an industrial setting, AWS Certification, and the ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T notation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; vocational training preferred.
• AWS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and use MIG/TIG welding equipment to weld basic GTAW and GMAW mild steel joints.
• Assemble exhaust assemblies, racks, and prototyping fixtures.
• Perform 1st piece table layouts and troubleshoot builds using CMM reports to get a good first piece.
• Maintain accurate job documentation for all production runs.
• Load and run robot welder and make needed repairs on assemblies after robot.
• Investigate and correct issues found during builds or inspections.
• Ensure products shipped meet internal and customer requirements per CMM reports, blueprints, and AWS specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Welding Manager.
