Job summary

Geauga Metropolitan Housing Authority is hiring a full-time Tier 3 Property Maintenance Tech in Chardon, OH. The role offers a starting pay of $23.20 per hour with a benefits package including health, dental, vision, a pension plan, paid holidays, and generous PTO.

You’ll lead repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems across five properties. You’ll manage work orders, ensure safety and quality, and participate in on-call coverage with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance with at least two trades.
• Ability to work throughout Geauga County: Chardon, Newbury, Middlefield, and Chagrin Falls.

CRITERIA

• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance, including advanced skills in at least two trades (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
• Ability to work throughout Geauga County: Chardon, Newbury, Middlefield, and Chagrin Falls

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Public or Multi-Family Housing
• Familiarity with occupied units, tenant interaction, and turnaround expectations
• Knowledge of HUD/REAC Inspection Standards
• Ability to help ensure units and properties stay inspection-ready and compliant

WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE OUR TIER 3 PROPERTY MAINTENANCE TECH

You follow a 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday schedule, with on-call coverage and overtime available.

You lead complex maintenance and repair projects across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems, using your experience to diagnose issues and deliver lasting solutions. You manage work orders from start to finish, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to standard. As you move between our five properties throughout Chardon, Newbury, Middlefield, and Chagrin Falls, you perform inspections and preventive maintenance that reduce emergency calls and protect long-term asset value. Each day, your attention to detail and commitment to quality help ensure our communities remain safe, compliant, and comfortable for residents.
