Job summary

Campbell Clinic is seeking a Regular Full-Time Professional registered nurse to join an ambulatory outpatient surgery team in Cookeville, TN. The role focuses on safe, quality patient care with attention to preop and postoperative needs.

The candidate will plan and document care, coordinate with the surgical team and families, and manage pain protocols while maintaining timely, compassionate patient flow. An RN license in Tennessee and BLS/ACLS/PALS are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• 1-2 years of nursing experience in ambulatory surgery, PACU, ER, or ICU.
• Current TN Registered Nurse License; Multistate Licensure Compact.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, implement, and document care for preop and postop patients.
• Monitor patient status and coordinate with surgical team and families.
• Initiate and coordinate pain management; start/discontinue IVs as needed.
• Coordinate all aspects of nursing care to achieve outcomes.
• Maintain regular and dependable attendance.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides safe, quality patient care in an ambulatory outpatient surgery center.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Evaluate, plan, implement, and document care, observations, and history of preop and postoperative patients.
• Stays with the patient according to the appropriate physiological and developmental age.
• Knowledge of anesthetic agents and narcotics, and be able to initiate/coordinate pain management. The ability to start and discontinue IVs.
• Coordinate all aspects of nursing care and teaching with the surgical team, patients, and families to achieve desired outcomes.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:Completion of an accredited post-secondary school of nursing degree required.

Experience: 1-2 years of nursing experience in ambulatory surgery, PACU, ER, or ICU.

Computer Skills: Must be computer literate. Basic computer skills required.

Certifications &Licenses: Current TN Registered Nurse License or current Nursing License. Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact. BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Other Requirements: Ability to immediately recognize and initiate treatment in emergency situations (perform CPR).
