Job summary

Campbell Clinic in Cookeville, TN, seeks a full-time Registered Nurse for its ambulatory outpatient surgery center. The role supports safe patient care from preop through postoperative recovery in a fast-paced setting.

You will evaluate and document care, coordinate pain management, initiate IVs when needed, and collaborate with the surgical team and families to ensure optimal outcomes. Strong computer skills and a valid TN license are required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of nursing experience in ambulatory surgery, PACU, ER, or ICU.
• Completion of an accredited post-secondary nursing program.
• Current TN RN license or Multistate license; BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Ability to recognize and initiate treatment in emergencies (CPR).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, implement, document preop and postoperative care.
• Stay with the patient according to age.
• Initiate/coordinate pain management and IV start/stop.
• Coordinate nursing care with the surgical team, patients, and families.
• Maintain regular attendance and teamwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides safe, quality patient care in an ambulatory outpatient surgery center.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Evaluate, plan, implement, and document care, observations, and history of preop and postoperative patients.
• Stays with the patient according to the appropriate physiological and developmental age.
• Knowledge of anesthetic agents and narcotics, and be able to initiate/coordinate pain management. The ability to start and discontinue IVs.
• Coordinate all aspects of nursing care and teaching with the surgical team, patients, and families to achieve desired outcomes.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:Completion of an accredited post-secondary school of nursing degree required.

Experience: 1-2 years of nursing experience in ambulatory surgery, PACU, ER, or ICU.

Computer Skills: Must be computer literate. Basic computer skills required.

Certifications &Licenses: Current TN Registered Nurse License or current Nursing License. Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact. BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Other Requirements: Ability to immediately recognize and initiate treatment in emergency situations (perform CPR).
