Job summary

The Colburn School, located in downtown Los Angeles, seeks a Box Office Manager to build and oversee a new ticketing operation as it opens its 2027 facilities. The role centers on establishing systems, processes, and a welcoming audience experience across performances and rentals.

You will lead Spektrix administration, supervise staff, coordinate revenue reporting, and partner with Marketing and Philanthropy to grow audiences and donor-supported tickets.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years managing ticketing, box office operations, or audience services in a multi-venue performing arts organization or university.
• Experience administering an enterprise-level ticketing platform (Spektrix, Tessitura, Ticketmaster, AudienceView, PatronManager, or equivalent).
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling staff in a customer service or ticketing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Evenings, weekends, and holiday work hours required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary administrator of the Spektrix ticketing platform including event setup, seating, pricing, reports, and user administration.
• Prepare ticket sales reports, attendance reports, forecasts, and other management reports.
• Coordinate with Finance and Rentals to support ticket settlements, financial reconciliation, and revenue reporting.
• Oversee box office operations for all Colburn venues and offsite venues as needed.
• Build a customer-service focused team and ensure a welcoming environment for audiences.
• Recruit, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate box office staff.
• Handle customer service calls for ticket transactions, exchanges, and promotions.
• Coordinate with Events and Facilities to provide box office services for rental events.
• Manage internal ticket buys and credential/wristband inventories.
• Support charitable ticket donations and donor outreach programs.
• Maintain thorough understanding of Colburn events, policies, and ticketing procedures.
