Job summary

Fanatics Betting and Gaming is hiring for a sportsbook cashier role. You will provide outstanding customer service, handle cash transactions, and manage tickets and payouts in a fast-paced betting environment.

Applicants must be 21+, able to obtain a MD Lottery gaming license, and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong math, communication, and professional presentation are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of customer service.
• Write, verify, and pay on sports wagers in accordance with department policy.
• Maintain a cash bank for your shift and give correct change.
• Stock sportsbook Writer/Cashier stations with supplies; keep stations neat.
• Write sports tickets accurately and timely.
• Make payments on winning tickets accurately and on time.
• Maintain and reconcile bank for assigned shift per cash-handling policies.
• Explain wagering rules, lines and odds to guests.
• Provide information and assistance to customers in a friendly manner.
• Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner.
• Escalate issues to management as needed and report suspicious activity.
• Adhere to all rules set by MD Lottery and Fanatics.
• Become familiar with the bet offering and answer questions confidently.
• Help resolve disputes with supervisor guidance.
• Maintain paperwork per company policy.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Team

Launched in 2021, Fanatics Betting and Gaming is the online and retail sports betting subsidiary of Fanatics, a global digital sports platform. The Fanatics Sportsbook is available to 95% of the addressable online sports bettor market in the U.S. Fanatics Casino is currently available online in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Fanatics Betting and Gaming operates twenty-two retail sports betting locations, including the only sportsbook inside an NFL stadium at Northwest Stadium. Fanatics Betting and Gaming is headquartered in New York with offices in Denver, Leeds and Dublin.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 1 years of cash handling experience in a work setting

• Must be able to obtain a Gaming License from the MD Lottery
• Must be able to provide a high level of customer service in a very fast paced environment

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of customer service, ensuring that all customers feel comfortable and become regular guests at Fanatics Sportsbook.
• Write, verify, and make payments on tickets for sports wagers in accordance with department policy and procedures and ensures compliance to applicable jurisdictional gaming statues and regulations
• Maintain a cash bank for his/her shift, responsible for accepting payment and making correct change when necessary
• Stock sportsbook Writer/Cashier's stations with adequate supplies; keeps all stations neat and clean
• Write Sports tickets in an accurate and timely manner
• Make payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner; verify tickets and payoffs
• Maintain and reconcile bank for assigned shift, following established cash-handling policies and procedures
• Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests
• Provide information and assistance to customers in a friendly, courteous manner to ensure the delivery of guest service. Offer information on activities, etc., and direct guests for further information as necessary
• Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner
• Notify management of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity
• Adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by MD Lottery and Fanatics.
• Become familiar with entire bet offering and be able to answer questions about the offering with confidence.
• Work to resolve customer disputes/complaints and elevate to direct supervisor when needed
• Have a positive attitude that helps ensure a great work environment
• Ensure that all necessary paperwork/documentation is filled out accordingly to company policy
• Other duties as assigned
