Major Duties

Under the general supervision of the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Ticketing & Sales Operations Administrator, the Ticket Office Supervisor, and the Senior Lead, the Ticket Office Lead provides day-to-day administrative and customer service support for Ticket Office operations. The incumbent assists the Ticket Office Supervisor with administrative ticket office operations, including opening and closing the Ticket Office, and assisting with event support at the Great Hall, Plaza del Sol Performance Hall, and Experimental Theatre at The Soraya.

  • Assists in carrying out all regular ticket office duties, including but not limited to selling tickets, printing tickets, and answering patron questions.
  • Assists in processing school groups and general group orders, including contacting group organizers for information or payment.
  • Processes established promotional codes and assists the Ticket Office Supervisor with ticket exchanges, complimentary ticket assignments, and other routine ticketing requests.
  • Assists with processing complimentary tickets for events, provides support to Soraya event management teams, and works with the Front-of-House department to ensure the highest quality of customer service is provided to patrons.
  • Performs routine checks of Ticket Office equipment, including computers, payment devices, and printers, and reports equipment issues and works with Ticket Office Supervisor and other staff members to coordinate service repairs.
  • Equivalent to three years of full-time, general office clerical work that has provided the applicant with the knowledge and abilities listed.
  • Equivalent to full-time college or university education/vocational school training in business or job-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience in administrative work providing audience or patron services, providing performing arts support functions, or in a theatre-related setting preferred
  • Ticket Office experience and Current Red Cross certification in CPR and First Aid are preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to perform ticket office operations, including opening and closing procedures, ticket sales, ticket printing, patron assistance, promotional code processing, exchanges, complimentary ticket assignments, and routine ticketing requests with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to assist group organizers, process school and general group orders, support staff training, and provide clear guidance to Customer Service Worker – Ticket Office Pooled workers.
  • Ability to provide effective event ticketing support across multiple venues, process complimentary tickets, assist event teams, and collaborate with Front-of-House staff to deliver high-quality customer service to patrons.
  • Working knowledge of ticket office equipment and inventory practices, including the ability to perform routine equipment checks, report issues, assist with service coordination, and maintain accurate equipment records and schedules.
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE is $21.40 – $23.16 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $20.57 - $29.38 per hour.
  • This is a Temporary position; end date to be determined.
  • The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
