Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Simulation Engineer to conduct throughput analyses and simulate new vehicle programs across the Global Vehicle Development Process. The role partners with Manufacturing Engineering centers to optimize current and future manufacturing systems and supports plants in throughput improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include delivering simulation outputs, interpreting results, and coordinating with multiple engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of engineering or manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years of experience with discrete event simulation.
• Familiarity with the Theory of Constraints.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Principles.

Responsibilities

• Implement simulation deliverables for assigned new or major vehicle programs.
• Conduct analyses and experiments, interpret results, and produce standard reports with potential improvements.
• Respond to throughput simulation requests from assigned manufacturing facilities.
• Support Manufacturing Engineering optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Extract inputs from Manufacturing Planning & Engineering documents.
• Coordinate with MSIE, GA, Conveyor, and IE organizations.
• Deliver results to customers.
• Interface with Execution and Process Leads to support total plant throughput strategy.
• Interface with Execution and Process teams to validate and update Data Sets.
• Occasional travel, approximately 5-10%.
