Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Throughput Registered Nurse for the Transfer Center at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. The RN will coordinate patient transfers, assess bed availability, and communicate with providers to determine care levels over the phone.

Night shift 7p-7a, 24 hours weekly. Requires RN license, 5 years nursing experience, BSN or ASN, and BLS within 30 days. Join our team to support safe and efficient patient movement.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license issued in the state or multi-state license via eNLC.
• Five years of nursing experience.
• BSN or ASN degree (or enrolled with BSN completed within 5 years).
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient transfers from outside facilities via telephone with providers.
• Assess bed placement and appropriate service lines for patient needs.
• Communicate with care teams to ensure safe, timely throughput.
• Utilize nursing process and standards of care to guide decisions.
