Rocket EMS, Inc. in Carson City, NV seeks a Through-Hole Lead to direct the through-hole assembly team, assign daily tasks, and align with schedules to meet workmanship standards.

You will train operators, troubleshoot soldering issues, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production leadership to sustain quality and efficiency in a fast-paced electronics environment. Strong leadership and hands-on soldering are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in through-hole assembly and soldering in a contract manufacturing or electronics production environment.
• Previous experience as a production lead, trainer, or senior operator preferred.
• Hands-on experience with hand soldering and selective and/or wave soldering equipment.
• IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate daily through-hole production activities based on priorities and resources.
• Review MPIs, drawings, ECOs, BOMs, and customer requirements; ensure current build docs are used.
• Lead component prep, hand insertion, soldering, wave soldering, and selective soldering.
• Verify component ID, polarity, orientation, placement, and workmanship during assembly.
• Ensure setups and process settings follow instructions; coordinate first-article verification and approvals.
• Monitor WIP, output, and schedule; report shortages, problems, and delays to the Supervisor.
• Troubleshoot defects; contain issues and escalate to Engineering/Quality as needed.
• Perform rework and solder touch-up per procedures.
• Train and coach operators on methods, tools, and safety practices.
• Verify production records, traceability, and in-process inspection forms.
• Provide clear shift pass-downs on status and priorities.
• Uphold safety, ESD, MSD handling, housekeeping, and 5S.
• Work with Engineering and Quality to reduce defects and improve processes.
• Support other areas as directed by Supervisor, Engineer, or Manager.
