Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul Waunakee thrift store seeks a full-time, non-exempt team member to help manage day-to-day operations and deliver excellent service to customers, donors and clients. You will assist in supervising staff, handling cash and inventory, and ensuring safety and adherence to store policies.

The role emphasizes teamwork, inclusivity and safeguarding of vulnerable individuals, with benefits including health and more. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with Counterpoint or similar POS, Windows, MS Office and Google apps; 55 wpm typing.
• Proven ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Willing to seek opportunities to gain experience, knowledge and skills; meet deadlines with minimal direction.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Train, supervise and coach store personnel per Store policies.
• Recommend disciplinary actions to the Store Manager.
• Manage store structure, stocking and rotation of merchandise.
• Maintain cash handling and POS procedures.
• Plan projects with the Store Manager.
• Support change with direct reports.
• Drive promotions and manage expenses to stay profitable.
• Promote teamwork and morale among staff.
• Resolve issues from customers, volunteers, clients and donors using de-escalation.
• Monitor staffing and hiring needs.
• Assess items for resale and donation acceptance.
• Handle, load and unload donated items and large objects.
• Assist payroll preparation and timekeeping per Attendance Policy.
